Queen Presents Silver Handbells to Canadian Chapels Royal

At a service at Toronto's St James's Cathedral on July 4th, 2010, HM the Queen presented a set of silver handbells to each of the two Chapels Royal of the Mohawks, St Paul's in Grand River and the Tyendinaga Chapel.

During the service, members of the St James's tower, supplemented by two tune ringers from a church in Mississauga, rang some of the bells. To see this on Youtube, go to:

Seen in red St James's ringers shirts are, L-R, David Hawkins, Michael Hinton, Natasha Moran, Chris Ruch; and on the decani side, Pauline Smith, unknown, Susan Sawyer and unknown.

To hear the tower bells ring for the occasion and see the Toronto band in the ringing room, go to CBC's news item at:

Henrietta Walmark, who has her own soundbite, is a Toronto learner. Seen in the background are (L-R) Chris Ruch, Judith Hunt, Pauline Smith, Sue White, Susan Sawyer, Dan Tregunno, Michael Hinton and Mark Androlia.
There is also a snatch of ringing on the new handbells at this link.
